QR Code Scanner

Scan or upload a QR code to read its content and preview links before opening.

QR codes hide URLs, WiFi passwords, and contact details inside an image. Dokall decodes any QR code in your browser - from a photo upload or live camera - and shows exactly what it contains before you act on it.

When a QR code points to a website, Dokall fetches link preview metadata and flags common red flags like shorteners, HTTP links, and IP-based URLs. Your image never leaves the device; only the extracted URL is sent for preview.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I scan a QR code?
Upload a QR code image or use your device camera for live scanning. Dokall decodes the QR pattern and displays the contained data - URL, text, WiFi credentials, or contact info.
Can I check if a QR code link is safe?
When a QR code contains a URL, Dokall fetches link preview metadata and flags common red flags: HTTP (not HTTPS), URL shorteners, and IP-based URLs. Review the preview before visiting the link.
Is my image uploaded?
QR decoding runs in your browser - the image is not uploaded. If the code contains a URL, only that URL is sent to the link preview service to fetch metadata.
Why won't my QR code scan?
Common causes: blurry or low-resolution image, insufficient contrast, damaged or partially obscured code, or missing quiet zone (margin). Try a clearer photo with the QR code centered and well-lit.
Can I scan QR codes from my camera?
Yes. On devices with a camera, switch to camera mode and point at the QR code. The scanner detects and decodes codes in real time without taking a photo first.
